Marthe A. Nerette

Marthe A. Nerette was born August 27, 1931, in Lascahobas, Haiti and to Constant Nerette and Aline Jolimeau. She was raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She worked at the tax consulate as a processor until retiring in 1984. She loved to travel, and shared those experiences with her children. As the matriarch of the family, Marthe took pride in the lives, accomplishments, and experiences of her children. As the eldest daughter, she always had the natural instinct of a caregiver and nurturer. It is why she chose to retire from her work and emigrate to Boston to care for her children and grandchildren. Marthe is survived by her sisters Herna Nerette and Sylvie Jacob; her two children, Judes Nerette and Marie M. Joseph; her grandchildren Ralph Nerette, Martsyl Joseph, Allex Joseph, and Michelle Cilien; her great-granddaughter, Laila Nerette; her niece, Caridad Pierre; her nephews, Teddy Jean-Poix and Stanley J. Jean-Baptiste; and her long-time close friends Marie-Andre Cilien and Suzelle Dunbar. Marthe was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Raymonde Nerette.
