Jean R. Lindor

Jean Rodger Lindor, 92, of Falls Church, Virginia, went peacefully on September 20, 2012 with his daughter Marie Andree by his side. He was born in Petit Goave, Haiti on March 16, 1920 and was married to Philomene Lindor  for 44 years; who passed on November 17, 1991. He owned a farm in Petit-Goave, Haiti for decades where he worked countless hours to support his family.  He followed his heart to Boston, Massachusetts in 1986 to be with his family.  He didn’t speak much English but was always able to make friends with his infectious smile. He enjoyed long walks and playing dominoes with his family. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was the second eldest of two sisters and five brothers. He is remembered by his four children, Mercilia Yveline Lindor, Marie Adeline Gaston, Marie Andree Lindor and Joseph Antoine Lindor; his 10 grandchildren, Godson, Nadeige, Woody and Steve Jean Louis, Joseph Dieujuste, Thierry Lindor, Joane Duro, Claudia Leconte, Joseph Lindor Jr. and Anthony Lindor; his brother, Joseph Petion Lindor and his wife Dr Georgette Jeanty and their two children; his seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the rest of his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Angela’s Church, 1548 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan, Saturday September 29, at 11:00AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting Hour at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., Dorchester, Saturday. 9:30-10:30AM. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
