June Evelyn Farrand, of Quincy died Tuesday, October 22,  2013, in South Shore Hospital after an extended battle with declining health.  The daughter of the late Marie (Cambria) and Cody Lake, she was born and raised in Dorchester, graduating from Dorchester High School in 1964.  She was a resident of Quincy for the past 47 years.  

June was employed as a civil servant for both the Quincy Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works Department as well as working at Quincy Hospital, retiring from the City in 2011.  A devoted parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Houghs Neck , she was Past Prefect of Our Lady’s Sodality, Past Regent of Catholic Daughters and a member of Mother’s Club.  June was a recipient of the 1987 Houghs Neck Good Neighbor Award.  Bowling, dancing, conversing and spending time with friends were among her favorite things to do.

June is survived by her sons, Michael Farrand and his wife Jennifer of Frankfort, IL and Marc Farrand and his wife Joanne of Wrentham.  Grandchildren;  Rebecca and Kelsey Farrand of Pittsburgh, PA and Brandon and Cameron Farrand of Wrentham.  She is also survived by her dear friends, Sue, Donna, Gail, Diane and Sheila, and her former husband, Red Farrand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Most Blessed Sacrament Church,  1015 Sea St. Quincy on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visitation Friday 4-8 PM in Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. EAST MILTON. Interment Private.
