Cheryl J. Burnett

Cheryl J. Burnett, 57, died July 21, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Melrose, MA after a long illness.

She was born November 28, 1953 in Boston, MA and was the daughter of Edwin Burnett and the late Louise Burnett.

She attended Wakefield, MA schools and received a BS degree in biology from McGill University in 1975. She also received diplomas in education, secondary math/science and family life education and human relations from McGill in 1980. She earned a MA degree from Lesley College in expressive therapy in 1988 and a graphic arts certificate from Hendricks Institute in 2002.

She taught secondary math, physics and economics in Canada and worked as a case manager for human services in the Boston area.

She was fluent in French and wrote poetry. She loved music and singing and was the one who always remembered the words.

Besides her father, she leaves her brother Philip Burnett and his wife, Pilar, as well as her niece, Alicia, of New York. She also leaves her devoted friends: Joanne, Barbara, Nancy and Marilyn.

She was a member of First Parish Congregational Church in Wakefield, MA. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to be held at her church on Saturday, August 20, at 11:00AM.
