Obituary for Adude G. Almeida

Adude G. Almeida, lovingly known as Fininha, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Praia, Cape Verde, she was hardworking, generous and deeply devoted to God. She moved to Senegal, where she met and married the love of her life, Kpakpo Akpabie known as Prosper. They later settled in his country, Togo, and eventually came to the United States. Sadly, Prosper passed away just three months after their arrival, but Fininha found the strength to carry on. She worked hard, became a proud U.S. citizen, and reunited most of her children in the United States.

She was the heart of her family and loved by all. Loving sister of Joana Sanca and Carlos Vieira. She is survived by her children Mariza “Chata”, Gisele, Guy, Nathy, Kale “Chantal” and Adote “Gerard”, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as her children-in-law Dudu, Rafael and Marie. She was predeceased by her husband Prosper and her sons Mario and Jeannot.

Fininha’s memory will live on in the love of her family and the many lives she touched.

Maman Adude D'Almeida carried a presence that always left whoever met her for the first time, speechless. She exuded beauty, a quiet dignity, respect and charm. She carried herself well and you could see, from the way that her children behaved, back then, that she raised them well. I had the rare privilege of knowing her and meeting with her in the late 1980s, in Lome, Togo, through Chantal, one of her daughters. My memory of her has lingered on, 35 years later. We will all miss her, her quiet charm and her wise counsel. I pray that God Almighty give Chantal and her siblings the fortitude to bear this great loss. Most importantly, I pray that God Almighty show her mercy and accept her precious soul. May Maman Adude G Almeida's soul rest in peace Job Orjioke Atlanta GA

Ajar Quevi

Tia Fininha will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to be in her presence. I've known Tia my entire life and was always mesmerized by her beautiful and elegant stature. She carried herself with such grace, dignity, and kindness that it left an impression on everyone she met. Her gentle smile and warm spirit had a way of making people feel loved and welcomed. Beyond her elegance, she had a heart full of compassion and wisdom that she freely shared with those around her. Her memory will forever live on in the stories we tell, the lessons she imparted, and the love she poured into her family and friends. Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy of beauty, grace, and love will remain in our hearts always.
