Alfred Johnson age 89, a proud resident of Milton passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Alfred was full of life, energy and enthusiasm. His outgoing nature allowed him to strike up conversations with anyone, and he made friends effortlessly wherever he went. Alfred’s hobbies were fishing and listening to music of all genre, especially Jazz.

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 7, 1936 to Lucinda and Nathaniel. He graduated from Gibbs High School in 1955. Alfred moved to Boston in 1956 and entered the Army in 1958. While in the Army he attended Medical Laboratory Technology at the U.S. Army Medical Center Fort Sam Houston Texas and was honorably discharged in 1961. He married Alieen (Hodges) Johnson on July 8, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts.

After marriage he worked as a Medical Laboratory Tech at the Brighton Marine Hospital before transferring to Boston VA Medical Center where he worked as a Research Tech in Cardiology. He attended School for Cardiac Ultrasound and Supervised Non-Invasive Laboratory after completing Cardiac Ultrasound. He taught Cardiology Fellows and Ultrasound Performance. After retiring from the VA Medical Center he worked performing cardiac ultrasound at the South Shore Hospital until finally retiring in 2004.

Alfred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Alieen; sons, Cary and Marc and his wife Edna; grandchildren, Jaden, Bryleigh and Leila. He is also survived by a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Friday, May 9th from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment at Milton Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
