Obituary for Dawn P. Howell

Dawn Pamela Howell, born in Kingston, Jamaica on April 8, 1960, to Minna Thomas and Samuel Montaque, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2025.

Dawn exhibited a quiet disposition, loved playing games, listening to music, dancing, and going to the movies. She loved and cared for others, her family, especially her nieces and nephews. A thoughtful, caring, kind-hearted person who always carried a smile, and made every effort to help everyone.

Dawn started her education journey at the Eastern Academy High School in Kingston, Jamaica, then migrated to the United States, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1978 where she joined her family. She was very independent, goal oriented, very dependable with a strong work ethic. She graduated from Lesley University (Cambridge, MA) with a bachelor’s degree, then matriculated at Northeastern University (Boston, MA) completing her graduate studies.

Dawn initially worked at the Stone and Webster Engineering Company in Boston, then later moved to New York, where she showcased her entrepreneurial skills by operating a successful Hair Styling business in Brooklyn New York, serving a wide array of satisfied clientele. She returned to Massachusetts years later after the death of her mother. She had a successful career working as a federal employee and key contributor for the Veteran Administraton Healthcare System. She worked at the main location in Jamaica Plain, and the Bedford, MA locations. She concurrently worked for the Amazon Corporation for almost a decade. Dawn was also an independent wellness advocate who sold and gave away the products.

Dawn, who was a beautiful soul, loved life, style and fashion and would sometimes strut around like a model with a plethora of outfits. She enjoyed travelling around the globe, visiting the United Kingdom, Jamaica, and Canada to name a few, she cherished connecting with family and friends. Dawn harped on the fact that she got her spiritual foundation in Jamaica, where she attended the Assembly Hall Church in Kingston at a tender age. However, realizing the importance of having a relationship with the LORD JESUS CHRIST, she made a profession of faith.

Although Dawn was battling an illness for the past few years, she never slowed down and fought to very end, when the Lord promoted her to join Him on December 26, 2025, surrounded by friends and family. She was loved, cherished, will forever be remembered in our hearts and mind. Dawn leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends around the world in the Australia, Bahamas, Canada, England, Jamaica, Scotland, United States, and the US Virgin Islands.

May her memory live on, as we crave your prayers during this difficult time

Dawn, may you soul rest in the paradise.Your big smile and joking way will forever be in my heart. It took me many years to realize that you were a jokester and liked to make people laugh. I wish I had an opportunity to visit and pray with you while you were sick but i take comfort in in knowing that were a God fearing woman and transitioned with the spirit of the Lord in your heart. Rest easy
