Donald Folkes, 69, of Dorchester, MA, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with illness.

Born on January 17, 1956, Donald was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a cherished grandfather. He dedicated 23 years of his life to Franciscan Hospital for Children, where he worked as a behavioral counselor, passionately committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. His work changed lives and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife and companion of 17 years, Erica; his children, Alecia and Anthony; and his five adored grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Danny” by those closest to him, he will be remembered for his peaceful nature, generous heart, and profound humility.

A funeral service to celebrate Donald’s life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hyde Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6 Webster Street, Hyde Park, MA 02136. Visiting hour prior to the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment in Fairview Cemetery.
