Obituary for Enock Etienne
Enock L. Etienne peacefully departed this life on May 6, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on September 30, 1933, in Aux Cayes, Haiti, he was the beloved son of Canegie Etienne and Estilla Pierre Louis and the second of eight children.
Enock lived a long and meaningful life marked by love, strength, wisdom, and devotion to his family. In December 1967, he married the love of his life, the late Tervilia Jean, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Together, they built a family grounded in faith, resilience, and unconditional love.
In July 1971, in pursuit of a better future for his family, Enock made the difficult decision to migrate from Haiti to Boston, leaving behind his wife and children with the hope of creating greater opportunities for them. Through determination, sacrifice, and hard work, he established a life as a skilled mechanic and became the proud owner of Enock’s Auto Repair, a business that became a staple within the Haitian community and a place where many found both service and support.
Enock was the proud father of four children: Mireille Etienne Mailles, Martyne Etienne Douyon, the late Marjorie Etienne, and Enock Etienne Jr. He cherished his children deeply and took immense pride in his grandchildren Tanya Riphin, Francia Rigueur, Rackelle Douyon, and Enock Etienne III, along with his great-grandchildren, Gaelle Pierre, Jenaya Riphin, Jaylance Alphonse, Jordan Alphonse and Julancia Alphonse whom he referred to as “Rest Vi’m.”
Known for his joyful spirit and sense of humor, Enock loved making people laugh and brought smiles to everyone around him. His warmth, jokes, and storytelling created lasting memories for family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved sisters, many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved, cared for, and cherished him throughout his life.
His legacy of love, resilience, laughter, and family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1548 Blue Hill Avenue Mattapan on Saturday May 23rd at 10AM. Interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9AM-10AM at the church.
