Obituary for Harold D. Fish Jr.

Harold D. Fish, Jr. passed away on March 27, 2026 at the age of 81 years old.

Known as Harry, he was a long-time resident of Milton, MA. Born in Boston on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1944, he was the son of Harold D. Fish, Sr. and Margaret C. (Howley) Fish. He attended Milton Public Schools and went on to earn his BA degree from Boston College, Class of 1968.

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Cristiana H. Fish and his former wife Paula Fish both of No. Reading, MA. His brother John (Colleen) Fish and his family of Braintree, MA and his sister Mary Corr (Edward) of Hyannis, MA. His nephew John, niece Kaitlin and grandnephew Jackson. Harold is also survived by many cousins.

After graduation from Boston College, Harry served his country as a Pvt 1st Class in the United States Marine Corps, from 1968-1972. He was deployed to Vietnam as part of the 3rd Marine Division.

Harold was a proud Marine who enjoyed lifelong friends with trackmen of Boston College, Huntington preparatory School and Milton High School.

Harry was a very caring person and it was important to him that those people who paid the ultimate price for their military service be not forgotten. To honor his late uncle who lost his life during WWII, Harry had the intersection of Adams St. and Richmond St. in Dorchester dedicated as the James E. Howley Square. Now his Uncle Elm, a man Harry never knew, will always be remembered.

Harry had many friends from his childhood to new ones he met throughout his life. For many years he worked as a delivery driver for various companies. Gregarious by nature with a love to drive to new destinations and meet new people it was the perfect employment for him.

Harry will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and his thoughtfulness; he had a remarkable knack for remembering dates and he never missed an opportunity to wish a friend or family member a remembrance on their special day. He always cherished the laughter shared with friends during countless phone calls.

I am so sorry to hear about Harry's passing. From everything I've heard, he was truly one of a kind—an old-time soul, the kind they just don't make anymore. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and a way of bringing laughter wherever he went. Although I never had the chance to meet him in person, I will always remember our conversations on the phone and the beautiful stories shared about him by his daughter, Christiana. It's clear he touched many lives in a meaningful way. May he rest in peace. Harry will always be remembered and held dearly in our hearts.
