Obituary for James "Jimmy" P. O'Sullivan

James P. “Jimmy” O’Sullivan, of Sagamore Beach, Bourne, formerly of Recess, County Galway, Ireland, passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Cherished father of Conor O’Sullivan and former husband and best friend of Ann (Burkinshaw) O’Sullivan. Beloved son of the late Michael and Nora (Moran) O’Sullivan. Brother of Ann Timln and her husband, Gary, of Milton, Angela O’Neill and her husband, Thomas, of Oughterard, Co. Galway, Ireland, Michael O’Sullivan and his wife, Marie, of London, England, Patrick O’Sullivan and his wife, Nuala, of Milton, John Francis O’Sullivan of Milton and Noel O’Sullivan of Recess, Co. Galway, Ireland. Jimmy was predeceased by his sisters, Maureen Lyons and her husband, Timothy of Dorchester and Margaret O’Sullivan of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all his friends as well

Jimmy was a true friend to all those who knew him. He was a quiet, steady calm to everyone he met. He loved his son and family most of all, always extending a helping hand when needed.

He was very active in the Connemara Football Club, ever present with his son, Conor, at the Irish Cultural Center football matches.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Visitation Parish, Saint Mary of the Hills Church, Saint Mary's Road, Milton. Relatives and friends invited. A livestream link of the mass will be posted here. Visiting hours are omitted.
