Obituary for John Galvao
John Galvao was born on January 18, 1969 in Dorchester MA a beloved son to the late Alerio and Julia Galvao.
John grew up in Dorchester and attended St Patrick School Dearborn Middle and Madison Park High School and received his degree in construction work.
He was employed at various jobs, most recently working for nonprofit organizations mission in helping the homeless, and advocating for the people battling drugs and alcohol. He also enjoyed office work.
John was a beautiful person who truly loved to have fun. He had a youthful soul who loved to dance, go out to clubs and was never afraid to do something that looked very dangerous to attempt to do. As the youngest of six siblings he had a very competitive spirit. John’s favorite hobbies were going to the movies, swimming at Mason pool, roller skating, traveling to Cape Verde Island, break dancing, and enjoyed past times with the Upham’s Corner /Dudley Street friends and with family during holidays and special occasions. He embraced tough challenges in his life without complaint. Whenever a family member needed support, he was there—ready to help in any way he could no matter how big or small. His kindness, strength, and steady presence were felt by all who knew him.
John will be remembered as someone who was always confident in the words he spoke, the actions he took, and his ability to live his life to the fullest.
John’s life was one of love, service, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the family he nurtured, the people he touched, and the example he set for all who were blessed to know him.
