Obituary for June "Junie" B. Costello

COSTELLO – June B. “Junie” (Marshall), age 93 formerly of Milton, entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 10, 2024.

June shared a love of children and micro donating with her husband, Charlie. While Charlie never met a baby he didn’t fall in love with, June enjoyed few things more than the creative mischief of a curious toddler. Family and friends knew they were always welcome to stop by with their little companions in tow, the children to be doted upon while the parents enjoyed a moment of peace and a bite to eat. Rarely (if ever) did these visits end without a care package “to go” for the family. This generosity continued wherever June and Charlie would visit as they would typically arrive with bags of pantry items and goodies for their hosts. June and Charlie were also highly suspected to be the fairies leaving surprise packages containing anything from diapers and toiletries to juice and brownie mix on the doorsteps of young families throughout the region.

The family is thankful for all who have continued Charlie’s legacy of giving by donating blood and platelets, whenever possible. To honor the spirit of June’s lifetime of giving, the family asks that donations of unexpired canned goods and other non-perishable items be made to any local food pantry.

Guests are also welcome to bring donations during visiting hours for the Milton Community Food Pantry, Inc. To honor the example of love and generosity that June and Charlie demonstrated every day as parents, the family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made to Catholic Charities of Boston, 275 W. Broadway, Boston, MA 02127 ~ www.ccab.org

Dear Judy, Jeff and Jayne, I have such fond memories of being at your house as a child, riding the Batmobile down the driveway, playing in the backyard, acting out plays in your basement that even had a bathroom with a cool folding door and of course your mom providing snacks. Your parents were so welcoming and gracious. I loved that your mom dressed and acted as a witch on Halloween giving out candy! I recall even decorating the Christmas tree with the family one year. My condolences, Linda Mulrey (King)
