Obituary for Lawrence Paul Neves
Lawrence P. Neves, lovingly known as Larry passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026 at the age of 78.
Born on October 12, 1947, Larry lived a life marked by service, adventure and devotion to those he loved. A proud Viet Nam Veteran and continued his service as an M.P with the National Guard Reserves He served his country with honor and carried his sense of duty throughout his life.
Larry dedicated over than 30 years of service to the city of Boston’s Transportation Dept., nearly ten years with the Boston Housing Authority, and 20 years as a security officer for Sheraton Boston and towers where he worked diligently and built many lasting friendships. Larry was known to be adventurous and developed a passion for cruising the ocean, as well as riding his motorcycle. Larry just loved to cruise whether it be land or sea.
His love of travel, as well as being an avid reader afforded him those treasured opportunities to explore new places, experience different cultures, and create innumerable memories along the way. His curiosity, independence and appreciation for life's adventures defined much of who he was.
Above it all, Larry was remarkably dependable and a great listener, these qualities solidified and defined the bonds he developed through out his life. He was a devoted partner to Bethann for nearly 30 years as well as a loving, influential father figure to Jiaan, both of whom brought great happiness and meaning to his life.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Alvro “Al” and Elizabeth “Betty” Neves, his brother Paul Neves, Anne Foster and his daughter Pauline Foster. He is survived by his children Lawrence and Lorraine, Marilyn and Charlene Foster, brothers Kenneth, John, Joseph, Daniel and the only sister Betty Ann, Delores Neves, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Larry will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, sense of adventure and the kindness he showed for those fortunate to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all of those whose lives he touched.
Vistiting hour on Friday June 5th 10-11am in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills. Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11am in the Funeral Home.
Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.
