So very sad. I first knew Mary as a well-liked and respected classmate at BC. It was not until 50 years later that we reconnected at our reunion, and I realized that she was the lovely woman with whom I had exchanged pleasantries for many years at morning Mass at St. Bonaventure's. Looking forward to chatting about our mutual past, I was saddened when she soon relocated but kept in touch through a mutual friend. Go in Peace, Mary, and may the angels welcome you into Paradise. Dear Cooke Family, I have been thinking about Mary all day. She gave Lainy and me our first Barbie dolls, I think, at a party at your parent's house before she went to the convent. I was a big Barbie girl. I saw her, I think, in the last five years when she was staying in Manomet. When she met me, her first remark was a compliment to me that I found so affirming that no one ever acknowledged to me. She was a very intelligent, kind person. I'll remember her always! My sincere sympathy to the extended Cooke family! Mary was my friend and classmate at Archbishop Williams. I was both sad and happy to watch the live stream of Mary's funeral Mass this morning. It was a beautiful celebration of her life! Seeing the Easter lilies on the altar at St. Agatha's reminded me of my own Baptism there on Easter Sunday which fell on this date, April 5, in 1942. Because Mary and I were born within two weeks of each other, I have to wonder if we might have been baptized together on that long ago Easter Sunday! I'd like to think that we were! May she rest in peace and rise in glory!

We are so sorry. Mary was always thinking of others and helping people feel better. She was always happy and smiling, remembering many happy times on the beach in Manomet. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Marilyn and Lainy Burns
