I also have heard today of Colonel Mary Coyle's passing. She was a wonderful human being that touched so many hearts. She was the first female commander at 74th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Westover Air Force Reserve Base and a great mentor to me and many other nurses and medical technicians that served with her. Rest in Peace. Maureen McCarthy, Col, USANG (ret)

I have just learned of Mary's passing and am so sad that the world has lost this lovely lady. She was an invaluable mentor and role model to so many , including me, as a nurse new to the 74th AES. Kind and compassionate, she lead by example and was beloved. Dee Holliday, Col, USAF (ret)

I grew up across from Mary Claire & Ed - both of whom were exceptional neighbors & people. I feel lucky to have known and to have lived across the street from the Coyles for many years - always brightening my day with their warm words. ~ Alison McIntyre

Mary Claire was our neighbor for almost 30 years. Mary was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force and a Nurse at the Carney Hospital for many years. Mary would share many wonderful stories with us. We will miss our chats and all the wonderful stories, especially of Southie back in the day. Mary and Ed were the perfect example of love, faith and kindness. We were truly blessed to have them in our lives as our neighbors and friends. We will miss you both so much! Give Spartacus a hug for us. Rest in Peace. Kathleen, Paul, Jarred, Devin, Dylan & Olivia DiManno & Houli too!

The news of Mary's passing is deeply saddening. It was an honor to have her as a neighbor on Brae Burn. Her kindness was evident in every interaction, she always took the time to share a word or ask how life was going. She was a wonderful person, a dedicated and respected veteran, and a beloved neighbor. The many great memories shared will always be remembered

We had the pleasure of knowing Mary Claire as our neighbor for 37+years. She was a lovely woman who had a smile and a warm word for all who were fortunate to know her. Mary was also known as Lt Colonel Mary C Coyle in the Air Force and was commander of the 74th Aeronautical Evacuation Squadron. Mary was a devout Catholic and she lived her faith as she volunteered with the homeless population and other charitable activities. Mary was a RN at the Carney Hospital for many years, and was a beloved neighbor and friend in our little neighborhood. Annie and Rich McIntyre
