Obituary for Michael "Mike" A. Brown

Mike’s physical body succumbed to an incurable disease on June 5th and in true Mike fashion, he had his witty humor till the end.

Mike was loved by many, including his wife Kate, his mother Kathi Rice & stepfather Phil Rice. He was preceded in death by his brother Ray. His in-laws Sharon, Bo & Kristen, Nicole, and Mike Koloski, as well as his nephews Mason and Grant Koloski. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mike was especially close with his cousin Anita and her husband Steve Stranieri, and his late cousin Shawn Ceppi. Mike's second family, Marie, Liam & Jutta, Blake, and Derek Deeney, along with his longtime friend Sheri Weisenberger and her husband Jim.

Mike worked for the Gillette company for 36 years; he started as a stock clerk at 19 and worked his way up to his most recent position in research and development. He had many great friends and co-workers at Gillette.

Mike was a long-time member at Furnace Brook Golf Course in Quincy, where he made great friendships and shared many laughs. He was also a regular at the Fowler House in Quincy and enjoyed spending time with the crew there.

Mike loved witty banter, music, golf, and vacations to Mexico. He had a great laugh and a very dry sense of humor. He lived a great life. Life’s short, eat the ice-cream.

We'd like to extend our gratitude to everyone who supported Mike over the past month, with a special thanks to his co-workers at Gillette and all the staff at AccentCare in Milton who cared for him. There will be a celebration of Mike soon, and those details will be shared with his family and friends.

Wow this hit me hard. I worked with Mike for about 25 years. If you didn't know him you would probably think he was an arrogant, wiseass, if you did know him you would still think he was an arrogant smart-ass but you knew that he was really so much more. I kept telling my husband recently (who also worked with Mike) "I really want to get together with Mike on one of our trips up north. " Sadly we missed the opportunity. I know you are in heaven shooting around of golf and talking to all our late coworkers. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed. Kate I am sorry for your loss. I am glad you had so many wonderful years together ❤️

To Mike's friends and family, I am very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Mike in the Gillette R&D Labs for the last 8+ years. He was a fount of knowledge and went out of his way to help or explain something. He helped us out numerous times to get equipment up and running. I think most of all, I will miss his sense of humor, he was quick with his wit and told it like it is. We will miss his presence around the office. Rest in Peace Mike. Sincerely, Ken Belliveau
