Obituary for Michael "Sully" Noel O'Sullivan

Michael “Sully” O’Sullivan, aged 52, of Braintree and formerly of Ballyhar, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland suddenly passed away January 9, 2026.

Born January 1, 1974, to Sean and Marie O’Sullivan, he spent his early years at home in Ballyhar with his three siblings, Marian, Brendan and Helen before moving to the states in 1994 when he was just 20 years old.

A hardworking and dedicated professional, Michael was the owner of Direct Drywall based all over Boston. He was known for his hard-work, his willingness to help others and his Irish charm. Michael was truly loved by all who knew him, and his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was the loving husband of Triona Houlihan O’Sullivan and a proud father to his two children, Kayla and Micheál. His family was the center of his life, and he was a source of strength, laughter, and guidance to those closest to him.

Michael will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Triona, daughter Kayla, son Micheál, brother Brendan, sisters Marian and Helen. Michael will be forever loved and deeply missed by his family, mother-in-law Aoife, Kayla’s mother Lisa, sister-in-laws Bernie and Erin and Erin's husband Sean and Muriel and Muriel’s husband Keith, brother-in-law Jackie and Jackie’s wife Amy, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbors and many many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, Quincy, Friday January 16 at 9:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Thursday January 15 from 4-8 PM.

Michael will be laid to rest at Aghadoe Private Lawn Cemetery in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Kerry Parents and Friends Association who support families of people with intellectual disabilities and provide day, residential, and support services to more than 250 adults. Donations may be made at: https://kpfa.ie/donate-to-us/

Michael will be forever loved and deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
