Obituary for Patricia A. "Trish" Gaquin

Patricia Anne Gaquin “Trish” of Milton and Brewster passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 27, 2025.

Trish was daughter to the late Joseph R. Gaquin of Dorchester and Maryanne Finlay of Revere. Born in Boston on April 17, 1955, she moved to Milton in her early childhood and attended Saint Agatha School. Trish was a proud graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Hingham and continued on to graduate with honors from Regis College in Weston. Her Social Work degree (BSW) provided her with endless opportunities to mentor and help others, her true passion in life. Trish had a fulfilling career focusing on Community Centers, including Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) Boston, the Harriet Tubman House, South End and Quincy college. She specialized in workforce development and job preparation, assisting many individuals to successfully complete their education and move on to rewarding careers. Her legacy will live on in all of the individuals she guided over the years.

In her younger years, Trish enjoyed managing and operating several family-owned businesses, where she made many lifelong and lasting friendships.

Beloved sister of Paul F. Gaquin, Mary G. “Gigi” Gaquin of Milton and Joseph R. “Jody” Gaquin of Las Vegas. She is also survived by many dear cousins and friends.

Summers at the family home in Brewster with sailing, boating, cookouts and swimming at Paine’s Creek were some of her most cherished memories.

Family and friends were most important to Trish. She found great joy attending “family dinner” and holiday celebrations. Gourmet cooking and entertaining were her passions. Trish had a great love of dogs, particularly her many Newfoundlands. Neighbors in Milton will remember her daily “drive-by watches” of the neighborhood.

Trish had a great spirit and even in her final moments you could hear her laughter as she reminisced with friends and family about the good times they shared. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many.

Trish’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Mass General Hospital and Fresenius Kidney Care of Quincy. They provided Trish with extra extraordinary care and comfort for many years and especially during her final journey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Monday June 2 at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Sunday 2-5 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Donations in Trish’s memory may be made to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Ste. 300, Rockville, MD 20852 or www.kidneyfund.org or a charity of your choice.

Trish was such a kind, generous, and sympatico person. I remember one Newfoundland she had "helped" the burglars. A great person whose compassion will be sorely missed by many. Gerri Carr NDA, Class of 1973

Trisha was a very long time friend and client of mine. As her hair colorist, we spent many hours together over the years and developed a relationship outside of the salon. I will share that she often spoke to me of her family and how close she was with her cousins. Truly an amazing woman always wiling to help others however she could. I will miss her , rest peacefully my friend. Laurie
