Obituary for Richard Michael Robinson

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Richard โ€œRickโ€ Robinson, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and faithful son of God, who left us far too soon at the age of 56 on May 8, 2025. Rickโ€™s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra (Medeiros) Robinson, and their children โ€” Caroline, Richard Jr., and William. They were his heart and soul, his pride and peace. His presence leaves an irreplaceable void in their lives.

Rick is also survived by his loving parents, Thomas and Joan Robinson of Chatham. He shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings: his brother and best friend, Thomas Robinson, and his wife, Denise, of Newton; and his sisters, Michele Robinson of Boston and Kimberly Robinson of Weymouth. He was a devoted uncle to Thomas Jr., Catherine, Michael, and John Robinson, and to Emma and Grace Medeiros. His love extended to his in-laws as well: Gordon and Antoinette Medeiros; and his brother-in-law, Gordon Jr., and his wife, Deborah, with whom he shared great affection and warmth. Rick is also survived by his uncle and namesake, Richard Robinson and his wife Kathleen.

Rick found happiness in the simple, profound moments. He loved watching his children play sports and was more than happy spending a weekend following them from game to game. He loved to tell stories about his children and beamed with pride while sharing their accomplishments. He relished his time being with Deb, the kids, and their dog, Lucy โ€” whether grilling or working in the yard, which he was meticulous about. These moments spoke volumes about the man he was โ€” a loving husband, a proud father, and a gentle soul.

Born in Long Island, NY, raised in Sudbury, Rick later settled in Milton. He earned his degree from Boston College and followed his father and brother into the commercial real estate industry. Rick cultivated cherished relationships throughout every chapter of his life - from his early days in Sudbury, through his college years, and during the many summers spent in Chatham. He and his family continued to summer in Chatham, they will cherish the endless memories they created on the shores of Ridgevale Beach. Raising his family in Milton, Rick found a true sense of community and built deep long-lasting friendships. His easy-going nature, warm smile, sense of humor, and kindness touched all who knew him. The friendships and relationships he built over the years reflect the extraordinary man he was.

Rick had a love for hockey that began in his childhood and continued throughout his college years playing at Lincoln-Sudbury High School and Saint Anselm College. An avid sports enthusiast, he loved engaging in spirited sports discussions, particularly with his Uncle Dick. There was nothing he liked better than spending time on the links, always eager for a round, especially when it meant an afternoon with his sons, father, brother, nephews and good friends.

Rick embodied the very essence of what it means to be a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, supportive brother, adoring uncle, and loyal friend. His presence will be deeply missed, and the profound impact he had on the lives of his family and friends will live on forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday May 15 from 3-7 PM at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, in Milton, MA. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Rd, Milton, MA, Friday, May 16 at 10 AM.
