Obituary for Vivian Bernice Belle

Vivian Bernice Belle passed away on March 6, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. A cherished matriarch, Vivian leaves behind a loving family including her children Joycelyn, Bonita, Margo, Sherlock, Leroy, and Roxanne; 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Eloise Belle, and siblings Olive, Winslow, Jonathan, and James. She is survived by her brother Lionel, along with a host of relatives and friends who adored her.

“Vivacious Vivi” as she was known, had a vibrant spirit and her unconditional love made her the life of every gathering. Born and raised in Guyana, she brought her warmth and culinary talents to the U.S. in 1986, enriching the lives of all who knew her. In the last 23 years of her life, she was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter Veronica and great-grandson Kevin, enjoying music, dance, travel, and the unwavering adoration of her family.

A true pillar of strength, Vivian lived her life advocating for faith, health, and happiness. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever live in the hearts of those she touched. As we say goodbye to our beloved Vivian, we find comfort in knowing her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

Visitation will be held at Faith Christian Church, 301 Harvard Street, DORCHESTER on Friday, March 22nd from 10am-11am. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Private Interment.

    Granny, as we called her, was a stalwart of a woman. My memories of her are vividly plastered with kindness & love. She was so sweet & loved to dance. I remember her dancing many years ago when Veronica brought her to visit me. Granny has lived an amazing life & we are better because you left an indelible legacy.
