Obituary for William J. Driscoll, Jr.

William J. “Billy” Driscoll, Jr., 63, of Milton passed away April 18, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer with his wife and sons by his side.

He was born and raised in Milton to William J. Driscoll and the late Phyllis (Manning) Driscoll. He graduated from Milton High School and attended UMass Boston. He worked for Marr Scaffolding for 37 years.

An avid athlete, Billy also enjoyed coaching Milton National Little League, Milton Babe Ruth, and Milton Youth Hockey. He was a proud UMASS Boston Hockey Hall of Fame member and 1981-82 Division 3 champion. Billy was a beloved coach and friend throughout the town of Milton. He also enjoyed vacations in North Conway and Martha’s Vineyard.

Beloved husband of Marion (Canavan) Driscoll. Loving father of Declan and Terrence Driscoll of Milton. Brother of Jacqueline Marr, Cynthia O’Rourke, Phillip Driscoll, and Lauren Dunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Wednesday April 24 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday April 23 from 4-8 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Billy’s memory may be made to Milton Babe Ruth, 48 Pierce Street, Milton, MA 02186.
