Obituary for Yvonne Fannie O'Bannon

In Loving Memory of Yvonne O’Bannon

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Yvonne O’Bannon on March 11, 2025, at the age of 68 years old. Yvonne also known as β€œFannie” was a loving wife, devoted mother, β€œcharismatic” grandmother, sister and friend who touched the hearts of everyone in her life, with her wisdoms, love, honest truth, charm and charisma like no other.

Yvonne was born on September 22, 1956, in Reidsville, North Carolina. She later on moved north with her family for a better life here in Boston, Massachusetts. It is here where Yvonne had her first daughter Kiana following three sons Ronjay, Jaron and Jeffron.

Married to the love of her life Ronald L. O’Bannon. After raising children in Hyde Park, the family relocated to Milton, Massachusetts. Yvonne’s life was full of passion and love for her family. After being a retired beautician, she stayed home with her sons and grandchildren.

Yvonne fought a great battle against cancer for the past year. She kept her head held high and exhibited amazing and miraculous strength, to endure what she did. She didn’t complain but instead faced ever treatment head on with dignity!

Before treatments she was given a cognitive test. Throughout the entire time she would write Yvonn O’Bannon I Love All of My Family. Always kept hope of the next holiday or season to come. Never showing any signs of surrendering or giving up. She showed us what true strength and courage looks and feels like.

She surpassed the expectations of man with the journey which in the end took a toll on her.

β€œMy Queen” as she was called by brother…………….My Queen has closed her eyes.

Our mother spent her life providing and making a home for her children and grandchildren. Endless love, endless advice always brought joy and love, like no other.

Yvonne you will be greatly missed by all of your loved ones.

She is survived by her husband Ronald, children Kiana, Ronjay, Jaron and Jeffron, siblings Robert Junior Graves and his wife Betty Joe of Greensboro, NC, Mae Graves and her husband Muhammond of Boston, Carolyn Blackwell of Greensboro, NC, Sherdean Graves of Eden, NC, Johnny Graves, Jacqueline Graves-Hackett both of Boston, Marilyn Graves of Winston-Salem, NC, grandchildren and extended family. Preceded in death by her sister Linda Graves, her brothers Willie β€œDOC” Williamson and John Watlington.

Yvonne’s legacy of love, laughter and selflessness will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be remembered always, deeply and sincerely missed.

Yvonne’s legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.

She will always be with us in spirit, warmth and love will continue to guide and inspire us…... Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound impact she had on each of us…, and the lasting memories that will live on forever.

MamaQueen, Thank you mama for taking care of me and raising me to be a good man. The times we shared together will forever be etched in my heart. You showed us what courage, and bravery was. Most in important you filled the home with so much joy and love. There wasn't a day that went by where we didn't talk or hang out. You even put on smile daily regardless of how much pain you was in. The joy you have brought to my life and the entire family will never be replaceable. Your legacy will live on thru us and your grandchildren. I vow to do my best and keep our family strong and together. I love you Mom. β€οΈβ€οΈπŸ’”πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ‘ΌπŸ™πŸΎ

Yvonne and I were BFF for quite a few years. We were pregnant together her with her 3rd child me with my 1st and only child. We were like sisters she was the nicest person with her beautiful smile. We lost contact with each other but when she returned to Massachusetts I made my way over to see her. Although distance and time we did not communicate with each she was always in my heart and mind. She will be missed especially by her extended family who were her first priority in life. My fondest memory of her and there were so many was when we were both 8 months pregnant and we went Christmas shopping to Framingham shopping mall. We saw a Chinese restaurant and we both said we wanted to stop and get something to eat. The waiter sat us in a booth that could barely allow our pregnant stomachs to sit in but we did and we had a great lunch. Ronnie chastised us for driving to Framingham in our condition but we didn't care we had a great day. This is one of many memories I have with my BFF Yvonne will always have a special place on my heart. Rest in peace and love for the family
