Claude Ostine May 30, 1950 - September 30, 2021

Claude Ostine, 71, passed away peacefully in his Dorchester home on September 30, 2021.

Claude was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He migrated to the U.S. in 1968 and lived in Brooklyn, NY briefly before moving to Boston with his family in 1976. For almost 30 years, he worked as a machinist at St. Regis Paper (later IVEX Packaging Corp.), in Newton Upper Falls until his retirement in 2007.

When he was not working, he enjoyed listening to music, watching soccer, tinkering with cars in his garage and tackling endless household projects. Claude was proud of the home he made for his family. He was a man of unquestionable integrity and a classic sense of style, who was never too busy to help others.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Corneil and Catherine Orné), his brother (Jacques Crevecoeur) and sisters (Yolene Orné and Bernadette Noel). He is survived by his sisters, Rose Paillant and Marlene Calixte, and brother, Ernst Ostine; his wife of 53 years, Marie Colette Ostine; his children, Shirley, Regine and Claude, Jr.; his seven grandchildren – Katani Ostine-Franklin, Dayna Ostine, Danaya Ostine, Nathaniel Jackson, Dominique Ostine, Daniella Ostine, and Corneil Mitchell Jackson; and many family and friends who mourn his passing. Together we celebrate the life he built and we remember all the ways his generosity enriched our lives.

Visiting hours will be held at Dolan Funeral Home 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Friday, October 8 from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Gregory Parish, 2215 Dorchester Avenue, Boston, MA 02124 on Saturday, October 9 at 10 am.

Claude Ostine will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Street Boston, MA 02131.
