Edward C. Forsyth July 4, 1962 - June 10, 2021

Edward C. Forsyth, age 58, of Canton, MA, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loved ones on Thursday evening, June 10th, 2021, at South Shore Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Ed was the son of the late Harding Forsyth of West Roxbury, and late Florence Forsyth of Dorchester, and son in law to William Rowan of Holbrook.  He was the loving companion for over 30 years of Susan Rowan of Holbrook, and beloved father of Nicole Forsyth of Waltham and Edward Forsyth of Holbrook. Brother of Eric Forsyth and wife Connie Forsyth of Marshfield, James Forsyth of Quincy, and Harding Forsyth of Tampa, FL. Ed is also survived by many brother-in-laws, sister-in laws, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Ed’s love for the ocean started with his father, who built the beloved wooden boat, Valhalla. On this boat, the family spent summers traveling up and down the New England seacoast. Ed served his country in the United States Coast Guard, where his knowledge and love of the ocean, as well as skills in boat handling, thrived. He was a lifelong member of Milton Yacht Club, and member of Old Colony Yacht Club, where he met everyone with a warm smile, helpful demeanor, and cold beer. Ed was truly loved by all.

My thoughts are with you all at this time of loss. Ed was a great friend and person. I have known Ed since childhood with our fathers were both building boats. He was always ready to help me and others at MYC and an important part of the life of the club. I will always remember his smile and joy.
