Jean Philippe Sylvestre, 58, of Boston passed away January 13, 2021.
Jean was born on March 9, 1962 in Les Cayes, Haiti to Renal and Monita Sylvestre.
Jean is lovingly known as Philippe or Ti Jean by his loved ones and friends. In 1985, Jean emigrated to the United States. In 1990, he fathered his eldest daughter, Tamille. In 2001, he fathered his youngest daughter, Clarisse Sylvestre.
Jean loved engaging in debates with his loved ones. He was indeed a man of all trades, including singing; being an astute expert with vehicles; and passionately discussing the political climate of his home country, Haiti.
Jean had a deep love for Haiti. He always dreamed of going back home to the countryside. He kept close ties with his extended family and never lost touch of his roots. Jean was very generous and always reliable to provide his family with support and put others needs before his own. Jean was a loving father, brother, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Tamille and Clarisse Sylvestre; his grandson, Lateef Pharaoh Philippe Rojas; his brothers Renel and Raphael; his sister Eugenie; his countless cousins of the Lucien family; numerous nephews and nieces; countless cousins; and dearest friends.
Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Friday January 22 from 4-8 PM. Family and friends invited. A private funeral service will be held. Burial Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
